Xvid convert to mpeg problems

Someting is seriously wrong. I converted a xvid file to an mpeg using vdub and tmpgenc. The movie starts out fine, but after about 7 minutes of viewing, the movie goes blank but I can still hear audio. Does anyone know how to fix this? BTW, the file is lord of the rings two towers. So if anyone downloaded the same file and is having the same problem, and actually fixed this, please email me or anyone else who can help me with this problem. My email is sigelince@hotmail.com. what size are the files and how many files are they (this may sound weird but is nessecary)

 

umm 2.4 ghz
windows xp professional
256 mb ram
40 gb HD
geforce 400 mx and i think it is 64 mb but not sure
