XVID not playing and sound speed doubled.

I use to be able to play all the avi movies i have. Now some of them play most of the new ones dont. Windows media will show picture but not move and no sound. i can move time slider and pic will change but nothing else. If i use DIVX Player picture moves and looks great but the sound is almost doubled, like in fast forward. DVDX Player Pro crashed upopn opening the files... Any help?

Mind you when everything was working i dont download new codecs for the hell of it. These movies just stopped working. I've re downloaded them but same result.

 

Try using FFDShow as a codec pack and Media Player Classic as the media player. You can get both of them from this site. When you get MPC, press the letter O key or go to View>Options to get to options. There, go to where it says Filters, then under Source filters in that menu, uncheck AVI. You should be able to configure it from there to your pleasing, as well as ffdshow.
