XVid problems

    I've downloaded the Xvid codecs that I've seen recommended on this site but when I try to open the film in media player it says "Class Factory cannot open the requested class". I've tried all sorts but I still can't open the file.
    Can somebody help me please?

    last time I got an error with "class" mentioned someone said it didn't go into the registry properly. you can try getting an xvid codec by someone else and see if that works.

    Thanks mate. I've tried the Koeshi and Nic's but neither work. I've heard the Nimo codec pack doesn't work right either. Is it a conflict with WMP 9 perhaps? Doeas anyone know of a programme to convert Xvid to divx?
