you will need xvid codec divx 503 bundle and virtual dub
1/virtual dub (if you have vbr audio)
    open v/dub
    audio full processing mode
    file save wave
    close v/dub

2/open xvid in your start menu (bottom left of your screen
    select 4cc changer
open your film and change both xvids to divx
    apply and quit

    3/ open v/dub
    file select your film
    vidio full processing mode
    vidio compression //divx 503
    audio full processing mode
    audio wave audio
    open saved wave
audio compression (whatever i use mp3 128 kbs)
    file save as avi

if you dont have a vbr warning skip 1 and everything to do with audio in the last part
but you still must use audio full processing mode
you now have a divx film which you can put in
TMPGEnc and encode to VCD/SVCD or DVD
