I've been trying to make the conversion of this xvid file to mpeg2 video work. I've extracted the audio in vdub, tried using all sorts of VBR settings or what have you, and I still confront this same problem - the svcd video appears to run faster than it should, the audio is totally asynched, everything is just screwy and off. I've gone through everything I can think of, and I'm hoping that someone who knows more about this than I do can maybe illuminate the problem for me. I have not confronted this problem with other divx to svcd conversions. Should I try another method, encoder, etc...? I would greatly appreciate any help!

The audio shouldn't be VBR it should be CBR 224kbits/sec. I wouldn't recommend using TMPGEnc alone to do the conversion, try using DVD2SVCD. Its also better to use the Cinema Craft Encoder as your encoder and if you want vbr svcd, use Min:300 Average:1600 Max:2450. At least 2 pass encoding (which is all you can do with TMPGEnc anyway. The conversion will take a long time with TMPGEnc but wouldnt with the Cinema Craft Encoder
