Hi I am trying to convert an xvid file into vcd format. It seems to encode fine but when i play it back, everything is in sync but the video doesn't seem to have a smooth framerate, it's quite jerky which you notice especially during shots where the camera is panning, I have checked the xvid version and it is smooth on playback. Is this a codec conflict or something else?

it sounds like yourve converted your file to the wrong framerate, you must encode the file to the framerate that it already has, (ntsc 29.hz, pal 25hz, ntscfilm 23.hz) if you dont know what framerate your file uses download g-spot codec information and that will tell you everything you need to know

I suggest: of course having the Xvid codec (or Ffdshow), then converting with TMPGenc the .AVI to the right .MPG format/frame using the wizerd.
    Where's the difficulty?

It was the right framerate, i used gspot to check and used the wizard to setup. I updated my tmpgenc and solved the problem, thanks anyway
