hello, i am trying to make an xvid back up of a movie with the ac3 audio included. i have done all of the steps up to adding the audio to the video. when i use vdubmod to comobine the audio and video i keep getting an error message that says "requested audio compression is not compatable with the input format. check that the sampling rate and the channel count of the input matche those of the requested format" what exactly does that mean? i followed all the instructions from the doom9 guide to the letter. http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/copy_dvd_to_xvid.cfm thanks for the assistance. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Word to your moms, I came to drop bombs![/small]
ok so i am able to play both the video and audio using bsplayer, but i have to open the files individually (meaning i have to open the video and then open the audio which is the ac3 file). when i try using nandub and vdubmod to combine the two all i hear when i play it back is a staticy clicking noise. my computer is able to handle the ac3 5.1, this i have tested with a dvd and the ac3 5.1 made from dvd2avi. i have been messing with the interlace settings and have not had any luck. please if someone else has solved this problem i would greatly apreciate the assistance. thanks in advance.
Two questions, 1) when you used dvd2avi did you select select Demux (AC3, MPA, DTS) or did you select select Demux all tracks(AC3, MPA, DTS). I suspect you did that part fine but had to ask since I'd kick myself later if that was it. 2) I assume you get the error when you go to save the final AVI, sooo, did you make sure to select direct stream copy under BOTH video and audio? These are the only 2 times I've had that error at that point of the game.
yes i checked the Demux in the dvd2avi. i tried it again today using this guide, http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/gordian_knot_ac3.cfm. did everything it told me to, except i did choose to Demux all tracks (the reason is the movie had a 5.1 and dts soundtrack, i got greedy). when all was said and done i had the same problem, that clicking staticy sound. one thing i should mention, when using vdubmod and nandub, i received the error messages when i tried to play back the movie in either program. i was able to save the movie (using direct stream copy for both audio and video), but all i got was the clicking noise. i know the files work, because as i mentioned in my second post on this page i was able to play them both using bs player. i just had to play them seperately, which kills my plan to burn the movie to cd. again thanx for the help.
Demuxing all tracks may be the problem. I did that once by accident and got the "requested audio compression is not compatable with the input format" in vdubmod. When I realized what I did I went back and redid the audio and it worked fine.
i think i may know what the problem was. the ac3 filter, i was using version 66b. i donwloaded version 67b and after install the movies started playing, in all thier 5.1 glory. plus i found some settings in the bsplayer to change the spdif settings. i thinkg it was the ac3 filter that was the ultimate problem. if anybody else has this problem try the changing the filters first. twilite, thanks AGAIN for all your help and suggestions. one of these days i will figure this stuff out. until the next post, talk to you later.
