EDITED: TO INSTALL YELLOW DOG LINUX 5.0 on your PS3 GUIDE by Tek Jansen

For those that doesn't know what is YDL 5.0 (Yellow Dog Linux)? Just google on the net and you'll know what it is and what's for. YDL 5.0 is an open source (OS) designed and provided by TerraSoft to the public, specifically to run on your new PS3.

For those that are looking for (or still need) Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 for their PS3. Get it here ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/yellowdog/iso/yellowdog-5.0-phoenix-20061208-PS3.iso

Or you could try any of these mirrors, here http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/resources/downloads.shtml

This is the best or fastest download I got so far, 26.5KB/sec downloading for me, 35Hrs to go. Damn... DSL connection, LOL. And DAMN... this YDL 3409.3MB is not a joke. I've tried to look everywhere, you name it, Azureus or BitTorrent and I can't even get over 10KBs.

    Enjoy it!!

Hmmm... I guess you haven't heard of Yellow Dog Linux 5.0 for the PS3 yet. It's an open source (OS) from "TerraSoft" specifically designed for the PS3, so you can do whatever you want on the net.

No it's not a hack, it's real/legit and available for the public to use or whoever owned any of the new PS3. However, I'm guessing down the road you can do more (i.e. upload/transfer games and more).

To Install YDL on PS3 GUIDE
. I've found this GUIDE very useful and clearly stated. This is perhaps one of the best guide I've seen so far on the net -- very easy with good explanation.

Damn, this YDL iso is not a joke. Tons of people are downloading that's why it's taking forever, LOL!!!

By the way, I was pretty satisfied that my SONY HDTV supported both 720p and 1080i. I can run them both, but I'm leaning more towards 720p, it's more crisp.

    EDITED: to insert link/guide

basically to have a built in computer, i think its worth it especiall if you use your internet browser you wont be limited to sites especiall game sites that dont work with the normal ps3 browser but will work on this OS linux.

Do you need a mouse and keyboard to install this OS because my keboard and mouse isn't the right USB to go in the ps3 slot since mines are circular
