look at this from an interview with SplitFish, an adapter maker.

"We have overcome the major difficulties of the controller force feedback motors affecting the motion control. This allows the MotionFX to operate smoothly when combined with the Sony controller. Television sensor strips are not required.

To date, we have filed 4 critical patents on our various adapter technologies and will continue to leverage these technologies on choice consoles only. Our fan base has asked us to support the Nintendo Wii however based on our own internal studies we report that the Wii has slightly more performance than a GameCube but less than the original xBox.

The Wii is therefore unable to support our adapter technologies.

It’s clear that as the Playstation 3 now plays over 5,000 PS1, PS2 and PS3 game titles and continues to ramp up its library of true high definition games the PS3 will dominate the future of mature games. SplitFish will therefore continue working with Sony consoles for several new technologies, including our multi-directional and non-uniform force-feed back technology that improves on the older style force feedback vibration systems."

see what i said? more proof wii is lesser than an xbox. just a far different 2part controller.

i cant say i much got into gears of war myself. it seemed repetative the ways you attacked. i wonder if ut3 will grab goty next year. epic has a nac for producing gotys, sony need to buy some exclusive from them soon. this delay sh*t blows. the ps3 needs more games badly. and only 1-3 good ones are due before fall/winter..

i just got word that motorstorm is 1p only. im pi$$ed at sony for having so many good 1-2p games, and so many sub-par 4p games. this is bullsh**. im disliking my ps3 by .25-.5% more every day. current rating, 75%. they need to step up and come out with more, because these games are boring now, and the good ones, or even ok ones, are sungle player or only two. wtf.

 

I'm feeling the same way my friend i found out that VF5 not going to have online...WTF lol Sony is loseing me everyday also i've been close to tradeing my system in on a 360 because i sold mine like 3 months ago.But the only thing stoping me is i love my Blu-Ray.

 

i know by fall the ps3 will own 5x more than it does. but right now its like a toddler learning life, and it will build over time. but i dont get why all these games dont have internet play. like thps. how hard is it to add more than 2 players in a 2p game, and how hard is it to incorperate basic online? probably because sony is making devs host servers on their own and some just dont want to put the cash to it when they get nothing out of it. dev'ing is expensive, and saving money is what its about these days..sad but true.

yeah, they do. the wii is going thru the same thing kind of. i read an article about the wii and ps3 being in game droughts, meaning they both have little lined up in terms of releases, let alone blockbusters, untill summer if not fall.

 

Didn't i hear that they were having problems with oblivions load time due to the slower speed of the 2x BRD drive? How did they short that out and even make it better

 

Probably by using the hard drive or posting the same data in multiple places on the disk.

 

They put redundant data all over the disc so the laser wouldn't have to move that much. The time saved was greater than if the laser would've had to travel to the beginning or end of the disk.

 

and repetative data possible with none oter than bluray, FTW.

 

when u buy the ps3 you are making a 4-6 year investment.

put it this way when the ps2 came out it was crap in my opinion but in one year it was rocking and taking the gaming world by storm

with the ps3 of course it is going to be on par with the 360 but the 360 has got almost to its full potential but with the ps3 the possibilities are endless.

But Sony need to really crack down on these third party companys they doing what the hell they want, how you not going to have online play for VF5.I wonder if Def Jam Icon going to have online play if not i'm going to raise hell because this is nextgen online play should be a must on any game now.I dont care if online is used just to download extra content all games should have it.

 

Actually, this can be done with any disk media.

Why make that investment now though? It's not like stocks or real estate where you have to take a risk to make good on your return. If the PS3 sucks right now but will be awesome in a year or two, why not wait until then to purchase it? It's not like the price is going to go up, as a matter of fact, it will probably be cheaper, and also, you'll probably get a better made system, and have great games to play.

I also don't understand how people say things like the 360 is maxed out or that it's a cheaper version of the PS3. The 360 has only been out for a year, what makes you think that it's maxed out, and why is it weaker than a PS3? I'm not disputing this, just wondering why people say these things when most technical articles have put the 2 systems on par with each other.

 

PSM had a comparison between the 360 and PS3 in a recent issue. I think that if I trust anyone on the subject of games it would be them. They themselves said the consoles were fairly equal. If anything, I think they preferred the 360 a little more. But I'm sure the PS3 will overcome the 360 given time.

One thing though...do you think the PS3 will ever have a controller made like the one for the 360? Cause I kind of don't like the PS3 controller...it's light, missing rumble, sixaxis stuff sucks, etc. The 360 controller seems better, especially for FPS games.

 

I agree. The 360 controller is close to flawless. (For it's intended use, that is)
Probably my favorite traditional controller besides the SNES controller.

true you can wait anywhere from 9 months to 2 yeras but you know what the ps2 is out for me

of course the price will drop on the ps3 but thats probably in one year

But u know what i know where your getting from but alreay i have the ps3 and i am happy with it. it jus kicks a$$.

waiting it out is well for suckers in this case it win win because you got something a whole lot better then what u had before.

So if your waiting it out because you want to see the ps3 potential then you are a sucker
