How can it be this hard to copy a friggin DVD. Yes I read the guides. Thoroughly - no. I expected it to be easier. I followed a guide even got a succefull result only to have the disc not play on my DVD player - being the wrong file type of course. Now i am back to searching for a guide yet i am so frustrated i can barely skim read to find the right guide to set me back on the path.
And so far i have found all the instructions for newbies are written by people that aren't newbies and basically probably won't make sense until i'm not a newbie.

I just want to hiff my lap top at the wall right now.

So the info if you are inclined to assist.
    Using: HP Pavillion Laptop
Can't work out what type of burner on the inside.

Used DVD Shrink to put movie on to laptop
The bit where i get stuffed up is getting on to a disc
    Disc type DVD+R

Used image burn to try and get it on to a disc
Can only get it onto the disc as a VOB

DVD player of course doesn't play VOB

Is there a way to put it on disc as a WMV or change the VOB's?
I am so not following this its silly.

I don't even know what info people need to help.

Shrink can either create video files or an ISO image of the video files. You only out put to video files if you are going to clean them up. Since you are not, create the ISO file. You can select an output type after you click backup. Burn the ISO image with imgburn.

Actually the video in the DVDs are video objects (VOB) or DVD video files. You need to learn how to take a chill pill. This is relatively simple stuff. It can get much more confusing than this. Breaking your computer will only slow you down and cost you time and money.

You need to read some of the post here. What DVD media are you using. DVD Shrink is old and will not rip newer moves with out help (Any DVD.) Try using DVD Fab. Burn with Imgburn at a slower speed. It is not hard. Just keep asking. Everyone is here to help.

The DVD Disc needs to have a proper file structure to it, it won't just play VOBs chucked on a disc as a Data DVD. It needs to be burned as DVD-Video Disc in order to get the right file system (the program does this for you). I personally use VSO Convert X to DVD.
