I am trying to use dvd shrink for zathura. I am getting an error message when i open disc - invalid dvd navigation structure. Any ideas on how to copy it - at the moment i can't even open it. It plays ok on the computer.

Use a free program called DVDFab Decrypter, it will break the encryption while ripping the movie onto your HDD http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm and here is a guide http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=51904 When finished ripping just use shrink to compress like you usually do and burn with your buning software.
Thanx. it seems to be working now, just a little slow on shrink, but opened file and is currently running
When you run shrink you should shutdown all other programs you are not using, like virus and firewall, the internet. You should leave the pc alone till the transcoding has finished. Shrink uses 100% of your cpu so running anything else could make shrink not work properly and run into errors.

Before you pay for this excellent program you have a 21 day trial http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html What else to do if the above does not work: 1) Update your dvdwriters firmware 2) Invest in good quality media Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims are best 3) Check your dvd's for dirt, scratches 4) clean your dvd If your dvd still does not back up, you most properbly have a badly authord dvd, so your only solution is to exchange it.
Another small and cool program which removes protection is FreeDVD. It is on the same web site as DVDFabDecryptor. I have been using it for a while and can't remember any program it didn't work on. Oh, and it is free.
