hi. sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i was wondering, on my vaio laptop, when plugged in, it plays gta 4 on medium and runs smoothly, but when i unplug the charger my game struggles to get more than 8 fps on low/none settings, i have changed the batery performce in windows to max performace not duriation. why else could my fps be dropping dramatically when unplugged from charger?

    my thanks, grievsa93

edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is 730x178 pixels.
    2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

just found out in this link that i warned you about your sig being to big & you didn't do anything about it so now have a week ban to fix it. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/770272/4664738

You would need to disable Intel SpeedStep if an Intel and AMD Cool n Quiet if an AMD. Even when you turn the settings to max performance, unplugging the power will still cause your processor to throttle down its speed.
