will this cpu work

    AMD Phenom x4 Quad Core HD91500DJ4BGH 1.8GHz Socket AM2 Processor


    says am2 socket


    but its not on this list



    will it still work even tho its not on the list

    just because the motherboard is an am2 doesnt always mean every am2 cpu is compatible.sometimes its just a matter of a bios revision but cant say for sure if this is the case here.i would go by your mb compatibility list for sure.

    aldan, motherboard is am3 as that cpu list also contains am3 processors.

    neptune, you should be alright with that cpu on that board.

    I hope I see a difference going to4 cores

    this is what I have atm

    Processor
    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2800 MHz
    CPU Clock: 2805.9 MHz (14.0 x 200.4 MHz)
    Level 1 Cache: 2 x 64 kB + 2 x 64 kB (data+instr.)
    Level 2 Cache: 2 x 512 kB
