today my computer crashed.i got the blue screen of death before it turned off.if anyone can tell me what caused this or how to fix it let me know.i will put the details below. From what I have been reading sometimes a hardware change or updating the drivers will sometimes cause this in Windows 7 and Vista.I had a similar problem and it was because of my NVIDIA driver.
im using windows 7. I had a chat to someone online lastnight and they said when playing bejewelled blitz online and running windows media player they can have conflict occasionaly which could of caused it.Think they said it can be caused by both programs using the same sound cache. the computer is still running just worried about it crashing again and permanently dying. havnt had any hardware changes.i did upgrade some of the graphics card files about 5months ago so i could play need for speed the run.
Check windows event viewer under computer management in admin tools if you haven't done so already as well as use bluescreenview (free non install app by NirSoft),you can disable auto restart & turn off either from safe mode selection screen or that other window where pagefile size can be changed,ok found it in properties of "my comp" then hit advanced system settings in left column,then under startup & recovery

BSOD's are usually hardware or software driver related,the event viewer when expanded can reveal some issues with certain apps,windows logs is where you need to look go thru each tho not all error marks are anything important,an explanation of each is revealed in the window below as you scroll them. The little non install app bluescreen view can give better detail of what errors occurred,however translating said codes is another matter
Could also be the power supply. Surge and sag power from a power supply can spell an early death to expensive hardware. Jeff
