basically its the classic i play it on my comp but not in my dvd players. i have backed up movies a long time ago but now im trying to do it again i am failing. can anyone shed some light into my problem. im using windows 7 btw in the rare chance that may be my issue.

    Maybe a region code error.
Which prog are you buring the disks with? Try removing the region coding and this may work. Are you definitely burning an ISO (image) file onto the disk as any other will not play in the DVD player but will be fine on your PC. Sorry if it's a basic question but you never know...

Use DvdFab Decrypter to rip your movies before using dvd shrink. Also, what speed are you burning with? What programs are you burning with?

Rtm Beat me to it with DvdFab Decrypter. Download Fixvts and run your Files through it after you ripped the Movie with DvdFab Decrypter, Then Open in Shrink and create an ISO file with it. then Burn With Imgburn.

    Also Try Booktyping.
Keep you Burn Speed to 1/2 the Rated Speed of your Blank Media.
I Use Tyaio Yuden 8X -R and burn at 4X-6X

Removed dvd decrypter and used dvdfab instead and it worked on my test run. Burn speed is 4x. Thanks for the help. Seems good.

You don't have to burn at 4X, this is 2009.

Here's a Quality scan using an LG burner and Taiyo Yuden 16X discs burned at 4X. Note the score and the PO failures.

    This time burned at 12X.

Here's one of mine. An 8X Taiyo Yuden TYG02 burned at 12X in my Pioneer 115D.

Thanks Berry. A high compliment coming from you.

I started burning my disks at 16x and noticed lots of failures. I switched down to 6x for a couple months before I upped the speed to 8x. After about 6 months, I upped to 12x, but have lately went back down to between 8x-10x, as that seems to be the speed that works well for me.
