Video problem!!

    I have a Mac thats 2.5 years old, just bought a mini dvi to dvi adapter as well as hdmi to dvi cable!! Hooked it all up hoping to watch a movie that I have on my computer on my tv but all I have on my tv screen is my computer background, no icons and the movie only plays on my mac but not on the tv!!! Please help!!!

    have you tried the mac version of VLC ??
