I have a new Dreambox 800HD and have a 150Gb internal HDD connected.

Same drive was used in my previous Dreambox and it worked fine.

Under Device Manager in Devicelist I can see the drive listed and it's size.

I also have a 32Gb USB drive listed.

In Devicelist, when I select the 150Gb drive and select 'initialise' I choose any partition option and any of the file formats (NTFS, FAT32 etc) and straight away I get the error 'Partitioning failed'

No matter what I try it won't mount the drive.

I've read previous threads on this but no luck.

    Can anyone assist?

    Thanks

have you tried formatting the drive with your pc to ext3? paragon partition manager will do this for you, format in pc put it back in dreambox and see if it will mount

problem is not the disk, problem is the image. images such dream elite have issues recognizing certain brands of hard drive. suggest you switch image to dreamboxuk v1.1 (do not use version 2 as it does not support clones very well).

i also found it was image dependent -i use D-M-S-image-dm800-OE1-6-v6-0-ramiMAHER and this image initialise and works with hdd no problems

and i can debate that also. have used many of the ramimaher images with no success with some hard disks. its very hit and miss but as Thinone suggests (as do I) it is image related. so its lots of head wrecking for a while

Had exactly the same problem myself. After trying a few ramimaher images also with no luck recognising internal HDD Merlin 3 worked a treat for me.
