starview 4 usb no signal

hi guys i've just bought a starview 4 for a friend i set it up at my house with no problems all channels working fine (set up using a 4way splitter)i took it to his house connected up using a 2 way splitter and none of the sports or movies are working they all say no signal so i removed the splitter and all working with direct feed the only problem is he subscribes for basic tv (v+) and broadband so he needs a 3 way splitter in there somewhere any ideas or solutions or different set-up i'm in uk and i've tried 1.05 1.06 1.07 and 1.10 all with exactly the same results its stumped me! thanks in advance
