    Hi
Please can someone help me before i get on a plane to Germany to shove my Laptop up the Boss of Nero's ass.

I've got a Sony Vaio PCG K115S and i have been using Nero 6 succesfully for about a year.

Suddenly i'm having big problems as apparantley my Matshita UJ820d drive isn't being recognised anymore.

After about a week of waiting someone got back to me from Nero to say i needed to update my firmare of which there is none available.

    I'm using Windows XP SP2.
    Please help

I'm not understanding this. Are you saying first Nero recognized the drive, now it doesn't?

Basically Yeh! i've been burning dvds for a while without any problems.
But know i'm getting an 'Invalid Block address' message.Or a complete freeze.Depending on what i'm doing.
Tried all the cleanup tools and reinstall but to no avail.
And the tech support at nero have said i need to update firmare to fix this.
I know the drive works as i've put a different program on to test and it's burning fine.

Ah, did you install SP2 before this happened? If the Nero guy said it had something to do with firmware, then it may be a compatibility issue between Nero and SP2.

I just checked sony's site and they do have a firmware for the burner that comes in the model number you listed?

They also have several other fixes for SP2.

You might want to go to Japan and shove that Vaio up someones butt before you go to Germany LOL :)

i installed sp2 as directed by nero and had no problems for a while although i knew there could've been.
The firmware on the sony website is for a pioneer drive and not the matshita one i've got.Apparantley even though its the same model of vaio sony installed different drives in them.

Went to the nero link and downloaded the latest updates as suggested and after installing succesfully started a burn and it's just failed with the same message...'Invalid Block address'.
I've got the log if it's of any use to anyone, no -one at nero wants to know.
    Thanks
