    no problem

pics are fine if they're not too detailed, ie it depends what bandwidth they use; always got to watch out for those with slow connections. I always change pics to links if they're too bandwidth hungry anyway, or if they bugger up the page margins

a good rule to follow is to try to keep the pix to under a 100k

I have a program that is free and it will take your whole card and either copy or move your pictures straight from your card reader into a folder of your choice and you can resize them to what ever size you want!

Does having a desktop pic slow down the performance of a computer? I have mine set to a neutral gray color. I am a graphic designer, and having grey is easy on the eye when working with various color. Getting proper callaberation is also difficult between 2 monitors, printer, scanner, etc.

It's Ubuntu Linux and there is a built in capture program << I think ;-)

And vtowner, I have a linux box, but it's not connected to the net atm, so no screens :)

edit- seem to have been hit by the new-page bug - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/519112/3386663

i can't delete this post as the subsequent post gets deleted each time i delete this one...

another edit- i can happily edit this or the next post, however when the edit is finished i get sent back to previous page. ARGHHHH!

there's something very odd going on with this thread at the moment. i've posted a reply and it doesn't show up. Then i copy/paste the text i'd posted and 2 posts show up. Then i delete the first one and both disappear. Now i've cleared cookies and all that crap, from both firefox and (ugh, internet explorer, though don't tell anyone i've used that tripe!) and it keeps happening. Will leave 2 posts in place for now, hopefully the Admins can explain what's gone on....

    - very nice, i especially like the cute FreeBSD devil (bless!), (i was using FreeBSD back in 1990, got as far as tuning the kernel (i know Linux purists say it's not Linux but it's the same difference to me) then stopped using FreeBSD after a few weeks/months, had no actual use for it back then until starting to use Linux in 2001..

i've got two linux machines at work and at the moment 3 or 4 linux machines at home (i rebuild machines quite a bit, i can't keep up with what machines i have myself!), but mainly i use Enlightenment with 2000ish desktops on random so the best i can post is this http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/creaky/p1010232.jpg from http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/208116/2960963
