You can use the little notepad to the right of your post to edit out your email address. Now down to the basics: use the following link to turn on your DMA http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html latest version for your burner is here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1754 This error is usually from out of date firmware and/ or crap media. Update the firmware of your burner before you run out to buy other media brands. Try to fix the issues I pointed out...of course our resident expert will be along shortly to add anything i may have missed but simply at this point seems to be a firmware issue. Report back and let us know how you fare after the firmmware update
the link to turn on my DMA dont work says this Page URL Not Found!! The requested page does not exist on this server. The URL you typed or followed is either outdated or inaccurate OK i got the 1.21 version and tryed to instal and got this error Failed to move to the kernal mode. Update Program is terminated by occuring an error.

- re the DMA, see the below links where i've commented on these via drivers before. As for the firmware, looks like there's 2 different 'varieties' of the DVD-107D. We need to establish if yours is a Pioneer drive (ie says Pioneer on front), or a Medion 'OEM' of a Pioneer drive as that will dictate which of the 2 firmware choices to make from matt72's link. damn im so thankful that ur helping me but i dont understand what to do... i dont understand most of the things ur saying i just want to put my cartoons on dvds..but it wont let me it kinda sucks aswell becuase i baught 50 dvd and a DVD writer for nothing ...seems like a big waste oh btw i check the front of my DVD thing..and it just says DVD r/rw....RE......compact DISC rewritable its like it has no brand i dono what to do :S right now im tryin an older version of nero..5.5 too see if it works there

http://www.burstcopy.com/dma/xp/ this link for dma has visuals that are pretty easy to follow. are you referring to the burner? lets establish if it is internal or external first...then if you can download nero info tool from the software tab at the top of the page run it...post the results here and we can determine if you in fact have a pioneer burner or a rebadged burner as creaky stated.
i can't see anything that suggests the drive is external... as to the drive front, not sure if Pioneer puts their name on the front of the drive..
@creaky, I have a pioneer 106A I believe on my old compact presario and even though I had it installed by certified techs from bestbuy it still is recognized and acts as an external burner. But that is due to virtual drive functionality from alcohol. I don't think his is external either but I should have been clearer as with my own experience pioneer drives act funny if there are more than 2 drives with cd/ dvd capabilities. It's unique but that is the reason i don't use it anymore and would gladly toss it to the trash heap but the neighbors would snatch it up real quick. Seems virtual drives mess with certain pioneer burners but will wait to see if he gets it sorted out. * dang it everytime I get off topic with creaky
Lmao. I'd not come across those particular virtual drives before. I'll have to trust you on the external drive thing as there's nothing in the log that suggests any external drives..
hmmm lol ok so i went here http://www.burstcopy.com/dma/xp/ and i understand it but on the 2nd picture...they have a primary IDE channel.. i dont i only got VIA bus master ULTRA ATA Controler but no primary ide channel this is realy buggin me lol...ive had 40mb left on my drive for like 2 weeks..i cant do anything..and i keep getting the little msg saying...Low disk space on D (aanoying ) lol

did you look at the links i'd provided re the VIA drivers. i think you just need to reload the motherboard drivers and am not sure if the DMA needs to be on or off with VIA drivers.

@Wavid - Right... First of all, from what i've been reading here and elsewhere, i think the main problem (ie Buffer too large) seems to be something to do with the VIA drivers. (my google searching re the 'Buffer too large' only seems to crop up in regard to Via drivers). For VIA drivers, the only time i've dealt with them myself was when i built my brother's new pc's a few months back. The drivers are called '4-in-1 drivers' i think. ....am gonna call for help from one of the guys who fixes/builds pc's all the time and ask he has a look into the VIA stuff. he'll be better than me at explaining how to solve this part of the problem... As to firmware, firmware's what teaches your burner about media/newer media & burn speeds. If your firmware is out of date it will have trouble doing any of those things. So for instance if as part of this problem of yours you go out and buy some different discs that isn't catered for in your existing version of firmware, you'll have more problems to add to what you've got now. While i think of it, your firmware appears to be recognising those discs correctly - - those 3 lines just means the firmware is recognising the discs. If the firmware couldn't recognise the discs, you'd get just that first line listed there.. I can't comment on Ritek G04 discs as the only ones i've used are G05's. Anyway, back to firmware, we still need to get the firmware updated, if for no other reason than to rule it out as a problem. As i said previously, it seems there are 2 varieties of this Pioneer drive, a standard Pioneer drive, and according to this link - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1754 the other variety is a Medion OEM drive - (OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer; a company that manufactures a given piece of hardware, unlike a value-added reseller, which changes and repackages the hardware). We need to work out which variety of drive you have so that we can point you towards the correct firmware update. The easiest way is for you to explain how you purchased the drive - ie did you buy it in a 'proper' box with Pioneer printed all over the packaging, or did it come in basically a boring brown box with just a couple of screws and the drive ? - if it's the latter it should be an OEM drive.... i'll go send that PM and call for backup.......
