Ibook dvd burning

    Will just about any external dvd drive work with a ibook. I ask this question because I have a sony 510ul that I purchased reasonable to use with it but when I hook it up to the ibook it will not reconize it but it will work on my powerbook. Any ideas? I have it hook up via firewire too.

    Are both machines running the same OSX version?

    You may need to install Patchburn in your iBook to get the external drive working:
