Hi, I have a Dell Inspirion 1100 (Yes I know Dell sucks, please don't remind me) Anyways, my dvd/cd drive is not reading cds or dvds. I can hear it making noise when I put them in, but it is not reading them. I tried running the drive manually, but it tells me to enter a disc. Usually, a screen will pop up automatically after I enter the dvd/cd and prompt me for a next move, but now nothing happens. I bought a disc cleaner to clean the drive, but it won't read that either. I don't understand what's going on. Someone please help.
Yes! I uninstalled and re-installed like I read in some of the previous threads about this subject, it didn't work. Yes, I did un-install a burning program I bought because it took up a lot of space and wasn't working. Any suggestions on what I should do next?

You may also receive an error Code 39 message that indicates that the driver is corrupted. • Device Manager displays the following error Code 19 message, which means that the registry returned some unknown result: Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19) • You may also receive the following error message: Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41) RESOLUTION WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system.
