I have tried everything and certain discs I have do not look good after compression...using a Mac....(DvdBackup > DVD2xone and Popcorn, burn with Toast).. I have read all the posts...

Someone suggested copy to 2 discs after ripping, splitting it up, no compression, how do I do that?

Do I need to use DVD2xone? Is there a way to dump certain files in Toast (I tried to do it and the first disc some chapters had no sound, etc.. )?

    TIA

Your best bet is probably to extract the whole thing. For each half, select only that half in dvd2onex (using the "cell/chapter" select) and set the compression to equal or slightly less than the size of the selected material. This should create separate video_ts folders with little compression which you could then burn using toast. There may be some kind of dvd segmenter out there, but this should work.
