xvid .avi file

    i have a .avi file that id like to burn on a dvd and play on my dvd player. What do you I need to do to covert it on my mac? thanks

    You need to download ffmpegx and one of the encoder tools (mpeg2ec) to convert the avi to a video_ts. after you dl ffmpegx and install, it will ask you to install components... ths is the encoder. get mpeg2eq and forget about the rest (for now)

    use the presets on the summary page (avi to dvd) to get the right settings. they are pretty simple to use.

    the codec will author it as a video and audio _ts folder then just burn a data disc with toast
