    Hello all,
    My problem is this -
I have a V220, data cable and Mobile Phone Tools v3.11, but I cant get MPT to initialize. Here is what I am doing!

    1. Start up MPT
    2. Connect my phone to the pc
    3. MPT then searches and comes up with a different phone image to mine and states that it cant connect to my phone (it hangs in initialize)

It recognized my v220 once but then it said that the connecction was lost or something.

I have a full signal, so I dont know what I am doing wrong!!!!!!

    1. Plug in the phone with usb cable into the computer.

    2. Windows should detect the phone and will ask for drivers.

    3. Give it the P2K drivers.

    4. Then install phone tools

I have tried all of your suggestions...to no avail!
I have deleted the drivers...MPT and started from scratch about 5 times!
It just hangs in 'Initializing' is it a firewall thing???? probably not, but cant think of anything else!!!!!!!!!

Try updating phonetools to 3.19. First uninstall phone tools 3.11h. Then download phonetools 1.23c, upgrade it to 2.21b and then update it to 3.19 using liveupdate.
Here's the link for the downloads: http://www.motopage-downloads.uk.tt/

    Hello norverna,
Looks like I have same problem like yours.
I installed MPT1.23c then upgarde to 2.21b then using liveupdate to 3.19e.
However, no luck, MPT3.19e still cannot detect V220.

    How you fix your problems?
    Thanks for the feedback.
    Jerry

I had the same problem. You have the right idea. Just make sure you un-install the drivers for the phone if you installed them with the first try at ver 3.11h.
It takes a while to load all of them. Then go into setup/general setup and change modem. It will run a com program with the modem, if you have another modem it may be using it. Then click next, you will get a chance to choose your modem/phone. It will work fine. Choose GSM and so on.

If you setup a profile always start with the profile you used when you found the phone or it will startup and not see it again.

For some reason the program does not auto detect the phone well. But once it is setup once you will never have a problem again.
