Hey i recently bought some new verbatim dvd-r and was tryin to burn scarface to the disk but it wasn't happening. i looked on the forums bout scarface and saw some peeps were having problems backing it up so i tryed few different progs ie. vobblanker, dvd decrypter and offcourse dvd shrink. but no matter what it keeps spittin my my disc out. So were there a bad batch of verbatim shipped?? i usually use fuji but thought i would give verbatim a try since i heard alot of good things.. Keeps tellin me its an illegal disk and gives me this..1A20-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx*

Please edit out your nero serial #,just above your error report. Starts out as 1A20 xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx

By your partial report, sounds like your burner's firmware will not handle those verbs.
    Which verbatim -r are you using,digital movie quality,data life,or the data-life plus?

Updating your firmware may take care of this.

Im not exactly sure on the quality it just says dvd-r dvd recordable. the dvd identifier code gave it mcc 03rg20 code. i checked my firmware and it said i was the most update they had..

I had no trouble doing scarface, nero and dvd shrink only.

I ran into a problem on a new I/O 16x burner that wouldn't burn maxell -4x-ritek go4's.It would spit them out and give me an illegal disc error. After updating the firmware, those ritekgo4's started burning again.Even the 2 discs I tried to burn before the update, were able to be burned-seeing as no actual burn started.
This sounds exactly like your issue.
I have not run into any verbs with that mfg code.My benq's seem to prefer the plus verbs.I had 1 coaster out of 2 with the verbatim -4x digital movie quality.Luckily I only bought a 5 pack.
