I've been trying to encode vob files as mpeg1 to use in creating a vcd. Currently I'm using ffmpegX but when I try to encode the files, it doesn't work.

I have 3 vob files, two of which are 1GB each and one which is 136MB. I have the ffmpegX controls set for encoding vob files to mpeg1 with a bitrate of 4652 and size of 352x240. When I press "encode", the progress bar pops up, says it is finished but no mpeg1 file is created.

The ffmpegX help files don't address this issue, so I thought I would check here to see if anyone has had any experience with this.

Short of figuring out the problem with ffmpegX, is there any suggestion as to other software I can use on a Mac to accomplish the same goal?

    Thanks!

TMPGEnc is PC-only isn't it? I can't find a Mac version of it.

Toast may do this. Never tried it though so I don't know for sure.
