I would like to convert individual scenes from a DVD to MPEG 1 format, so that the Mac file name would read: filename.mpg. I have read over various posts, but have yet to come across one which explicitly tells how to convert from DVD to MPEG 1. Are there any applications anyone would suggest to use to do so? I don't need to burn the files to a DVD, I just need the files on my computer. Thanks to whoever can help....

do some research on these apps: DvdXdv, FFMpegX, Cinematize, Toast, Quicktime.

All you need is in one or two of those apps.
