I´m looking for a good program for converting various type .avi files to DVD. At appears that FFmpegX might do the job. Anyone have any experience with this software, or have a better suggestion. PowerBook G4 15"
I have used it a couple times and I can't say if I did it right or not but I have had mixed results. The first time it worked fine and I was able to play the movie in my DVD player. The second time the audio was a few seconds off and it got annoying. The last time it was just a coaster. I used the presets using the ffmpegx and mencoder plugins and neither seems to do any better. My main problem is I am to lazy to tinker with it since it takes about a whole night to encode the movie.
You have to have the right codec in your system first. Then there are a few apps that will do it. But honestly, the quality of the dvd is going to suck. So if you're downloading porno videos for you dvd player they're going to be grainy ;-) Sorry, got off track there. If you have the codec, toast will do it for you.
ok then in that program ffmpegX, what do you convert the avi file or any other file to in order to burn it onto a DVD.. Because there is a lot of different conversions in that program..and then once you do convert it to the right file in that program to you have to convert it to a .bin file using DVDImager inorder to burn it? Please Help
Thank you. I did not realize could encode .avi I've got Toast 6.0 and divx and xvid files. Which Codecs should I install in order for Toast to process these? Where in OSX should I install the Codecs? B
