Doesn't anyone use the guides before posting "how-to" questions?

I have looked through a million forums and downloaded DVD Depcrypter, Imgburn, RipIt4Me, Shrink, Nero 6 Express, and FixVTS. I think I have everything that I need. But I still cannot copy my DVDs. I can't copy Open Season, Haunted Highway, Grudge 2, The Guardian. I need help bad. I have even tried to trick shrink into using Imgburn by changing the name in my C:\program files for DVD Decrypter. But every forum I join is upset that I need help. I have followed Guides and still having trouble.

    Hi,
I'm trying to burn a DVD of LOST.
I tried Scubapete's advice, and have followed everything but am encountering a problem with the DVD shrink.

when I try to locate the file, I'm prompted with a message DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to open filed "C:\Doc..blah..\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO

I checked the folder and it does have 2 files in it. LST0NNT1 and a MDS file.

    What's the problem?

So I went ahead and dragged the MDS file into DVD shrink, and was able to get to the next step of burning the content, but the DVD doesn't work. It won't play.

    Something's gotta be wrong..:(

    JJYkim,
Lets see if I can help you. Since I have not seen ScubaPete's guide in a couple of years it might be that you need a better ripper as Shrink or DVDD can not do the newer movies. I suggest that you get Ripit4Me and use the Official Installer to get the program properly setup on the computer. The program can be found here and it does everything automatically for you and even opens Shrink for you automatically. By the way the program is free.

    Ripit4Me: http://www.ripit4me.org/download.html

The Official Installer is Red in color and about 1/4 the way down the page

Ripit4Me Guide: Can be found here: http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html

The program is really simple to install and run so you should have no problems. If you do would you please post the problem in the Shrink Forum and one of the members there will gladly help you

    thanks.
I went ahead and dled the softwares you recommended.
I tried following the guide, but got alittle confused as to which options I should use.

I'm guessing the "LOST" dvds have some sort of protection on them that makes it harder for ppl to burn em..but I just wanna make sure before burning another dvd.. :(

If you have all of the necessary programs needed on the HD then just click the "1 Click Mode" and it will do all of the necessary processes for you. Lost is really easy to do and there is nothing special on the DVD that Ripit4Me can not handle. Where did you get lost using the guides and tomorrow I'll see if I can help as it is late here and I am going to Bed

HELP! I have recorded a live program on my cable dvr. I am wanting to take my cable dvr to another location to show a friend the recording. Is this possible? How do I get this to work?

Why did you chose 4350 for output file size vs 4464?
Is Imgburn better than dvd decrypter?
Which program did you use to capture the screens used to illustrate your very useful guide?

To avoid the edge of the disc where the quality can become inconsistant.

Really apples and oranges since Imgburn only burn while DVDD both rips and burns, but for the burning part...yes Imgburn is better and is still receiving updates whereas DVDD hasn't been updated in several years.

I typically use Gadwin Printscreen... http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/

But there are others out there that will do basically the same thing...both free and not free.
