Hello, I have some video which is currently ready to be burned to DVD I believe (.vob, .ifo, and .bup files) but there is a problem with the video:

The provider doesn't broadcast in DVD standards. As a result, the video has a too long GOP. This is not DVD compliant, but many players accept it. I had to patch also the file because the video frame is 544*576 and therefore not DVD compliant. This might also be a problem for your DVD player.

The video is also in PAL format right now. What do I need to do to fix the GOP and the video frame problems/can they be fixed? My DVD player can play PAL format DVDs so that is not a problem but if it is easy to convert to NTSC then that wouldn't be a problem to do.

Yes, use an mpeg encoder to encode the avi to mpeg/2 (dvd compliant) using the correct dimensions mentioned in the topic above.

It will work then no problem.

I got mpeg2vcr and when I tried to convert the vob file it didn't give me the option to change the dimensions. So now I have an mpeg2 file with incorrect dimensions. Can you recommend a program or tell me what I need to do with mpeg2vcr? Thanks.
