im moving home for the 1st time into a new flat. I want it to be the ultimate boy pad! automated systems, mini bar, pool table, dart board, plasma screen tv's and of course an excellent sound system. Only problem is, i dont know where to start!!!???

What i would like to do is setup a system where i can watch tv, dvd's, play xbox 360 and listen to music all out of the same speaker sytem. Because of a fairly large music library on my p.c, i would like my pc connected to the same system!

    Would this be too much??

I know that my dvd player and xbox, all being connected to the tv, would come out of the speakers, but real problem is getting the pc connected to that system aswell, so i can listen to music. i cant imagine how, and using search engines isn't specific enough!!! any help would be appreciated thanx!

thanks 4 ur comments much appreciated.

here's what i've been finkin. pc to tv connection, using a video and audio cable into the scart in the back of my tv. or do it wirelessly wiv a reciever (expensive but cooler option!) with this i can surf the web, use windows media player n listen to music through my tv, therefore thru the audio of my home cinema speaker system. with dvd player, xbox and cable plugged into my tv via scart as well. prob gonna need a huge multi scart socket thingymebob! if u get what i mean (forgot real name! :) Hows that sound? doable? already got all the main parts dvd, tv, xbox, pc etc jus need the connection leads/receivers. If there's a beta way, open to suggestions. thanx agen darkmagic.

well for hooking up to tv i would either suggust that u get a dvi reciever or u get a dvi to component adapter (u will need at least a ati card to use it) well anyways once u have one of those all u will need is this cable http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/243281 the 2nd post and u will beable to hear sound and watch video on ur tv hope this will answer ur question now.. i dont know scart all that much but that wouldnt be better then hd or digitial

Hola Stwrt2005. Congrats on the new pad ! What you want is WAY do-able. I've got roughly that exact setup (minus xbox, but with an old Playstation) and I find that my setup changes over time. What you'll probably find is that as you go, you'll want to do very specific things and so you'll have to fine tune your setup a bit. For example, I had a setup like you described, but found that I didn't want to have my TV on just to listen to music from my computer. In the end I'm using some old tech (a free VCR with a many inputs) to aid in the input of basicaly EVERYTHING to my stereo reciever.

Obviously there's a zillion other options,(esp. from your PC). I'd just encourage you to go for it, and I'll bet you'll have so customize it anyway to the way you do things.
