    I downloaded this movie and it was a 1.19GB avi file. I created a DVD and when I pop it in my dvd player it says "playback prohibited area limitations"??????????? WFT???????????

    what region are you?
    what region is the disc?
    what did you use to convert the avi to mpeg2?

    Also make sure if it's in PAL format you are in a PAL region or have a player that accepts that standard. Otherwise you'll need to convert it to NTSC (or vice versa)

    What do you mean by region? I didnt convert it, I used nero "create your own dvd" thingy and i added the file to the list and burnt it. the dvd+r is 4.7GB in size if that is what you mean by region.

    Australia uses PAL format whilst the good old US of A uses NTSC. Some stand alone players will handle both formats but not too many. As andmerr has suggested where do you reside?

    I live in Canada mate. Maybe we can become pen pals LoL jk. Im guessing I dont use PAL format then. Thats the format I burnt the DVD in.

    @cropa
    Your in region 1 same as the US and use the NTSC standard. Soooo unless you have a player that plays PAL you'll need to convert from PAL to NTSC.

    Hey gwendolin - txs for the tip on divxtodvd! I have a dvd now I have to convert from pal to ntsc and this may be easier than my last method.
