They are not KEY GENERATORS, buy are actually KEY FINDERS. Once you have them on your PC, you just click the link software whenever you need new keys to replace those that have been changed by the sat providers. They will search their respective sites and show you the latest keys needed to get your FTA receiver back up and running. These work for the keys only. If the bin files get re-written, then you need to find the new file and download and install it manually. It could take a few hours for the keys to be updated but they do work well.

HI Jerry, thanks for your response.

Is that directed to sat providers mainly in the US, & could it be used for the same purpose in Ireland eg. SKY? (sister station to FOX)
They seem to be set up to only work for the 2 North America providers, DN in the USA and BEV in Canada. There may be similar programs for other providers but I don't remember seeing any.

Thanks Jerry, it was worth a shot anyway. It would have been handy just to see the English Premiership only? It seems that you can almost view anything on the 'net' except the English Premiership, but here's hoping i come across another gem like yours some day, preferably before the EPL starts in Aug :)

Keep up the good work you're doing anyway Jerry.

Thanks

Not usually, both sets of keys for both providers should show up listing the last date and time they were updated.

I'll give you 2 links below for forums that are free to join. Then go to the getting started sections for your model receiver. There should be detailed setup guides and links to the files and software you might need.

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding Coolsat 5000. Yesterday, I downloaded new keys and I entered them - everything was working fine, but in a couple of minutes I got scrambled channels again. I repeated this few times, and each time I got scrambled channels after few minutes. Interestingly enough, when I went to change the keys time and time again, what I changed was no longer there. It seems like the system went back to the previous key codes on it's own. Could anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?? Maybe there is a step that I am not takeing, and the key codes are not being saved properly, even though I make sure to choose "save" each time I change the key codes. Should I be doing anything else apart from changing the codes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

There are 3 links under my sig. The first 2 are for key grabbing software that will search the web and get new keys for you. The 3rd link is a direct page that displays the keys. It sometimes takes a few hours for these links to update but the 3rd one is current. In your menu somewhere should be an AUTO ROLL feature that needs turned off right now. Then find the CODE area and in the DISH section--enter the new keys. In a day or so a new bin file will show up that will fix the auto roll feature and you can turn that back on. Until then you may need to change keys on a daily basis if the picture goes back out.

I think its the 01 01 00 code . It shouldn't hurt if you enter the same keys both places.

Did you turn auto roll OFF?? My Viewsat Platinum is up and running. Triple check the key numbers. One letter or number off and it won't work.If you enter the new keys and auto roll is still on, the new keys will change to the wrong ones very quickly.

Jerry

I forgot to mention that on my Platinum there seems to be 2 key areas listed for Dish Network. While using the arrow key on the remote to change the provider title I need to arrow left to the second Dish key area. I'm note sure if your receiver is like that or not, but worth a check.

Yes, go to Nagra section-- then look at the top of the screen and it shows the different dish providers. As you arrow sideways, the provider should change. On mine if I arrow left, it changes to Dish once and if I arrow a few more lefts Dish show up again. I always have to enter the keys in the second Dish area. There should be 4 lines below on the Dish screen with 16 letters/numbers in each line. don't change the 00 line indicators which are the first 2 digits in each line. Start with the 2nd group of digits for the total of 16 in each line not counting the 00 or 01 at the beginning of each line. So ignor the 00 and then start entering the keys. Should be 16 spaces afetr the 00 or 01. Do the same for all 4 lines.

I hope you know how to install a new bin file. Here is a link to the auto roll fix file for the Ultra. Install the bin file and then turn auto roll back on. It should load the new keys for you in a few minutes.

First off, this thread is suppose to be about the key programs. I don't want it to become another major thread on all receiver problems but I'll try to help this time. The link I posted was for the Viewsat Ultra. If thats what you have then you are using the right bin file. The next thing is to go into the menu and find the autoroll feature and make sure it is turned on after you install the new file. Once that is done, give the receiver 5 minutes or more to auto roll the proper keys. Your picture should come back on. Keep in mind the bin file is just released and I have no way of knowing if there are any bugs in the bin file at this time. I hope this helps.

Hi,
I just inherited the viewsat reciever from my father, It was working fine until yesterday. I have been reading as much as I can, trying to figure this all out, but information is difficult to come by. I was wondering if you knew of a page that would explain in detail about the keys, bin files, how all this works, etc. I tried changing the keys, but the only thing that seemed to be different was the 86 and 96 numbers listed before the 16 digits, all the rest of them were the same. I appreciate your help. Thanks,

I got it to work again, but only channels from one sat 8,10, the other one , 7, is not coming in. Do the front numbers make a difference? I have 4 or 5 rows, front numbers are 0, 8, 9, 86, 96.
Thanks again.
