I have a nec dvd rw nd-3550a burner, and I am using convertxtodvd program. I burnt about 10 dvd previously to having my problem just fine. What's happening is after I convert and burn to dvd it won't play in my dvd player. I can hear the movie but the picture looks like the tracking is off. I tried it in another dvd player and it wouldn't play at all. The dvds play just fine on my computer though. Anyone know whats going on?
They are Memorex DVD+R. I've burnt about 10 dvds that work fine now I've burnt three in a row that have had the same problems.
If you like to go through the threads you will find many written on the use of Memorex discs, they are the #1 for causing errors. They are manufactured by CMC Mag and it's the inconsistency in the dye that causes problems, using them is a very "hit and miss" affair. I am certain that if you change to a better quality of disc, say Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden the problem will be overcome. Heres one of the threads http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544
Thanks a million!!! I will try another brand is it likely that say out of 30 dvds 3 or more might not work.
Wow, thats a pretty good %, more like 15 out of 30 but you can never tell, somone might be lucky and get a good batch.
new to burning dvds. i didn't realize how much difference the brand means. is there anything else to look for when buying dvds. like -r or plus +r.
I think you will find that -R is most popular although I always use +R. Look for something Made in Japan but any Verbatim from Taiwan is also good.
