hi, ive been looking for a solution to my query and was unable to find one or have overlooked it, so i apologise if that is the case!

i have several .avi files on my HD which i am wanting to put onto dvd to free up some room, and was wondering if there was a way to simply burn them as .avis so that i can play them on my computer from a dvd?

i tried using Nero BackItUp on Nero 7 but that 13 .avi files into 1 .nba file which i dont know what to do with!

hope you can help, and let me know if you need anymore info

    thanks

    1. Uninstall Nero BackItUp, and when you reinstall Nero, do not install it!
    You do not need it.

    2. You want burn them to dvd, and watch from pc?
Then open Nero StartSmart and use data -mode.

    3. One file?
Is it image? (.nrg, .iso, .bin/.cue...)
you can burn that using burn image -mode (in Nero).

OneMember - thanks a lot for you help, that was just what i was after! i was going to burn all of my .avi file into dvd format so i can watch them from standalone dvd players but once i had burnt them i found that the audio quality was coming back out of sync, so i gave up and just decided to store them as .avi files

in regards to the one file you were asking about, it wasnt an image file but i dont know what it was! i tried opening it and it went to open in dvddecrypter but failed, weird!

also, once i have burned the .avi's to a dvd, is it possible to just simply copy it using something like DVDShrink or DVDFab, or do i have to use the data mode process each time? in other words can i delete the .avi's or do i need them if i want to make another copy?

Now those .avi files are in dvd in same data format that they are in your pc.

There is no protection in that dvd so you can just clone it (fast if you have two dvd drive), or you can copy .avi files from dvd to your hdd and burn them again using that data-mode.

If that dvd is working, you can delete the avi files...
