i got a HP Pavilion zd8060US Notebook PC back in JAN-2005 and have been using it pretty heavly for long periods of time ever since, and just today i closed my laptop lid to go take a break for 10min and when i came back and opened the lid again there is now a GREEN line 1 Pixel wide straight down the center of my LCD screen.. WTF is this..??? is my monitor going dead or is there a way to fix this..??
I think you burned the image into your screen. Something like this happend on my tv. I watch a lot of the same news so there little ticker burned into my screen.
Try Playing a Flashing video or a fast paced video for 12-24hours this should change the colour of the burnt pixels so they function again
MrDash, can't burn an image onto a lcd screen, only crt's. Deviouz, check this thread out as i think there was a possible remedy posted there for that problem, something about gently pressing the screen. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/295688
@ dazila - mind explaining that a lil more please..??? @ ddp - What page in the thread would i find what your talking about..?? cuz theres way to many pages in there..?? thanks for helping me though guys...
I think pressing it in was for stuck pixels like for eg .......... ....^...^^ ^........ Normal pixel:. Stuck:^ That is what pressing should help. But yours is an image burnt in on one spot meaning playing a fast paced video will gently change the pixels colour then it will operate because its not frozen. There i think was a special thing (video) on the net to fix this it was just really fast bright flashing colours whihc never ended you run it with media player full screen and it should help fix the problem but only problem i dont know what the thing is called anymore??
sorry i aint got a Camera for any pix.. but its just a 1-pixel wide green line staight up & down the center of my LCD screen.. its weird though.. The green Line went away a few times for some reason after rebooting my PC.. but now its back.. so im really stumped on whats really causing this now..!!!
i am having the same problem with my lcd screen... i have a sony vaio that is about 3 yrsold. i was removing unused programs from my system and the next day when i openned my computer the next day, this green line from top to bottom in the center of my screen appeared and it has never gone away...i called sony...i reinstalled my graphics program and reseted my screen....but its still there... i do not want to get it serviced bc for that price i might as well get a new screen. HELP!
man this is weird... now the line coming and going off an on every so often.. one minute the line will be there then it will just fade away and all the pixels then will work fine. but it seems to fade away when theres a lot of black covering the entire screen.. but when theres a lot of white covering the screen thats when it comes back.. and the color of this line keeps changing from green to light blue...
I have the same machine and a similar line appeared about a month ago. Gradually since then more lines have shown up. Now there are 12 multicolored verticle lines. I have yet to get a definitive answer re this so see no alternative to replacing the LCD. Do I dare attempt to do this myself or should I send it out?
How long you had your Laptop for man..?? i checked the HP site for replacement LCD's for this model and all are sold out.. so i guess u gotta find a local dealer to fix it.. sucks dont it..!!! one simple lil line thas buggin the shite outta me.. i even ran the PIXLE FIXER vid over night for 8 hours or so.. but still no luck.. its still there damint.. but now its just a solid blue line...!!! http://www.widowpc.com/2005/08/fix_dead_pixels.php are there any other trix out there to fix deez pixels or do i just gotta get a new monitor..??
