I copied "the FA premier league manager 2002" today and supposedly it copied and installed successfully but when I came to play the game it wouldnt work cuz apparently it could not locate the CD ROM Can you help? Please!
i think its because u copied it bad, i had same problems when i started backing up my games. what program did u copy with? which settings did u use? or if u dont want to burn it again, try to get no-cd-crack, but im not sure if its legal, and often, they dont work properly. i suggest u post how u burned the game.
1. Determine the type of protection on the game (using ClonyXXL) 2. If the game has SecureROM protection, see http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/26771 or http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43802 3. If the game has SafeDisc2, see http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/23699 or http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/36444
1. I cant advocate noCDs 2. noCDs (most of them anyway) limit you to a specific version of the game 3. What is the point of "duplicating" a game when you still need a fix for it? ;-) 4. It takes no skill (and thus gives no satisfaction) just to download some fancy fandangle noCD somewhere hehe
If this pc game is made by EA Sports (Electronic Arts) then it is Safedisc 2.x cd protected. What is the brand name and model of your burner? Shoey
Fair point Praetor, I didn't realise the aim was to get a fully fuctional 1:1 copy. I'm just happy to get a copy working, whatever the cost , hehe.
We stress here to attempt to make a fully functional working backup even if one needs emulation. I despise "no cd patches"... Shoey
LOL no biggie... i used to share the same "anything to get it to work" philosophy however I quickly found that the majority of the noCDs limit you to a specific version and you have to do some funky fandangled wacko stuff to switch from from noCD1.00 to noCD1.01 and so on. Hence it is much easier just to burn it right the first time and not have to stress about it each time you install.
