Hi I have a microsoft optical mouse that is playing up. I had it connected through ps2 using a usb - ps2 converter, and it freezes up and stops working. So I unplugged it and ran it straight into usb - now it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, making the annoying alert noise in Windows XP. It only seems to do this when actually moving the cursor - it stays connected fine until you move it. Does this seem likely to be a problem with the mouse itself, or with the computer? Thanks
Is this a cordless mouse? Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the driver that came with it? The problem is "usually" with the driver or settings, and not the pc. Cheers.
yes - as per my original post, I have already tried going sraight into the usb - and it continually disconnects and reconnects... possibly a new mouse may solve the issue. It's not cordless, just standard
