Dont worry too much about the vite... but since the movie was encoded using XviD, you obviously wont be able to play it with DivX player. Now assuming you have the required XviD codec, just open her up with Windows Media Player or any other major media player. If you get a green/purple screen then that would be a good indicator to get yourself the FDDSHOW filter,
If you have other movies that wont play then your problem is most likely the lack of a proper codec.
