Thats right you can use adaware to remove the adware. Divx pro doesnt use spyware... Just make sure not to delete this file: clsid\{21ffb6c0-0da1-11d5-a9d5-00500413153c}
Adaware removed the spyware (Free version of Pro), but deleted that file I guess, because now it won't encode. Can I just replace the file or do I have to reinstall the software?
alntht, Adaware should create a backup of any changes it makes. You could check that feature out and only restore the registry key mentioned above.
Actually, I tried that and it still wouldn't work. I reinstalled the DivX software because it was just faster. I'm doing a fresh install of Xp in a few days anyway, so I'll work it out then. I'm only on dial-up for a few minuites a day, so I'm not too woried. Thanks for the input!!
