I need help hooking up my camera

    I am trying to hook a sony HDR-FX1 HDV Handycam to a mac mini using either i movie hd or Final cut Express I can't seem to consistently get it to work. I don't use the mac that much so I don't know if there is something I am missing thanks for any help.

    are connecting w/ a USB port or a Firewire port??? i've noticed that USB isn't so relieable with my Sony so i bought the firewire. plus the usb took 4ever

    I am trying to use firewire. but I just found out that the reason i would not work is that a chip inside the camera died

    im using samsung digital camcorder VP-D351. And i want to download the clips from camera to my macbook,but when i plug it in using firewiire cable,it does not apear on desktop .Any ideas how to make it work?
