If I have an image file that does not have safedisc on it, IE someone burning it with nero and works fine, does it matter then what burner you have? Could he burn it because he had a better burner, or was it because safedisc was removed from the original image to start with? Can you actually clean the image of safedisc V2.9? Thanks. Thanks for the help on the earlier thread as well. I do not plan to buy a cd rom, but a dvd burner and dvd drive.
1. To burn SD2, one of the major determining factors is the model of the burner (specifically, whether if it is a 2-sheep burner or not) For a list of 2-Sheep burners as well as an explaination as to what exactly "sheep" are, see http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121 2. If the cd image is of something that does not have SD/SD2 protection then you can burn it okay using any burner 3. If the cd image doesnt have SD/SD2 protection and it SHOULD (i.e., someone made an improper image) then when you go to play the game then it will ask you to insert the correct cd. To get around this you can either remake the cd image or use a noCD. 4. You CAN make a clean duplicate of SD2.9 (personally I find SD/SD2 a lot of 'fun' to backup hehe -- its not that hard if you have a good burner). And before you ask, there ARE 2 sheep dvd burners: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/58117 5. If the SD/SD2 protection was ripped from the cd (i.e., hacked), then Im afraid I cant discuss that.
My burner is older than Christmas. Artec WRA-O40 24x 10x 40x. I am overdue an update on my hardware. In other words, I cannot backup any disc that has safedisc 2.9 with my burner. Thanks_X_X_X_X_X_[small]War Ron Jeremy, War Razorbacks, I'm out![/small]
