Hi, i hava speedstream 4200 NON wireless modem and it works fine, my friend gave me a free working speedstream wireless 6520 modem gateway and when i unplug the 4200 and plug in the new one windows just says the page cannot be displayed, i updated its firmware and then ran a diagnostic and everything passed except the ISP, here are the ISP reaults: Internet Service Provider Test Description Result PPPoE Test PPPoE Server connection FAIL PPPoE Session Test PPPoE session FAIL PPP Authentication Test authentication with ISP FAIL IP Address Test the assigned IP address N/A Any idea why this wont work?! my other computer finds the modem but fails when connecting to the internet, i disabled all security and it is broadcasting its SSID, so i just plugged the non wireless modem back in and it works fine again aron
I believe that is a DSL modem and if that's the case it needs to be configured to work with your ISP. All you should need to do is call tech support and they can direct you to the correct settings.
