Main Movie Size

I hope I am in the correct forum for this topic. if not Please forgive me.

Anyway, here is my issue. I know all about ripping, and burning back ups to my movies. I use the most recent version of dvdfab HD decrypter to rip the main movie to my HD before using dvdshrink to burn it. Only ripping and burning the main movie saves on quality because less compression is required. Here is the my problem. I ripped Die Hard, the original, the my HD with no problems. However, it is still 6.36 gigs. I kinda thought that was big for just the main movie. (maybe I am wrong) So my question is this.... Is there any way or program which will help me take the 6.36gig main movie and make it smaller so it will require less compression? Thanks for the help
