Hi there. I am a Starview newbie - just bought a Starview The Box PVR and have set it all up according to instructions. I have the loop through going out from the cable 1 out to the cable 2 input connections as described. All channels on the primary tuner are working perfectly fine, however on the secondary one, some channels work and others don't. There doesn't seem to be any distinction between what types of channels are not working however...
eg Sky Sports 1 works but not Sky Sports 2. A number of other premium channels do work as well - but then ones like Living don't.
I am sure the loop through is connected correctly because otherwise none of the channels would work.
So I am not entirely sure what is causing the problem.
Has anyone come across this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Take a read of this other link below , but yours seems very much like a signal strength related problem. There is all kinds of usefull info in the link, but read it well.

Thanks jbvideo.

If it is a signal problem do you think that if I use a splitter on the cable rather than the loop through to plug into the second input it might be a bit better?
It just seems strange because the same signal is going into cable 1 input and there are no issues there.
Or perhaps the loop through cable is faulty maybe?

I looked on the other thread but didn't really find any resolution from there.

Thanks for your help.

Hi
Its not exactly the same signal going into tuner 2, the reason being that that the main input cable signal has to go into (and though) the first tuner, hence loosing some of its strength on its route before being passed out into the loop cable.
This can be proven by trying to feed the second tuner only with the main cable (it wont work)
Therefore you can try, using a splitter to feed the second tuner which then be the same as the feed to tuner 1.(by using a splitter both ouput signals would be reduced slightly)
You could also try different short loop cable to eliminate a fault with your present one. Make sure the loop sockets on the back especially the small inner female ones haven't gone too large in diameter, I pinched mine slightly with long nosed plyers

Hi jbvideo
I changed the loop through cable like you suggested and everything is working fine now - so it must have been a faulty loop through.
Really appreciate your help.
Thanks a million.
