burn dvd`s to blu ray?

    hello i have about 300 movies on dvd and i would like to know if i can buy a blu ray recorder so i can burn my dvd`s to a blu ray disk as i know i could get more than one movie on a blu ray disk?
    i thought also of getting a playstation3 to play the movies.

    Yes, you can do that...

    Do you need chapters or subtitles?

    If you don't really need them, then the easiest way would be to extract the video and audio streams into a mpeg2 (program stream) container and just burn as many movies that will fit onto a BD-R (at least 5 or so).

    If you do want chapters and subs, then maybe you can use tsMuxeR to create Blu-ray compliant files. I don't know if tsMuxeR can work with SD media as I haven't tried it.

    I do have a question though, why do you want to do this? A spindle of 50 DVD-R's can be bought for about the same price as one BD-R! If you're lucky you might fit 5 or 6 DVD movies onto a Blu-ray disc. Burning onto Blu-ray will be a much more expensive exercise.

    i have cyberlink hidef suite v4 there's a option bdav

    thank you for an answer,it is just that i am trying to bring down the amount of dvd`s i have,i thought once that i could get more than 1 film on a dvd but when i try i get a msg saying that the disk is full.
