Hi i know this information is all elsewhere but i am really struggling with it all. Im normally pretty good with these things but not with this.

First i am trying to find out if i have a clone box and what this entails. I have looked at all the pictures and i have the back of a clone box, the inside of a clone box with loads of resistors but i have a normal remote? Can anybody put me straight. If it is clone should i ask for my money back?

Secondly, over the last few days the keys have been changing and i have been getting the manual keys off here (thank you). Is there a way that they can be changed automatically as everytime it is only 1 digit out?

API ver: 4.00e_E
Boot Ver: 7.0

What can i update this too (if real or clone), and also how do i do this. What will happen to a clone box? Im sorry if this is blatenly obvious to some but im really getting stuck with all this, too many people with different ideas.

On the top of the b0x
18 vents = clone
25 vents = genuine
Looking from the front of the b0x- left scart = clone
right scart genuine.

Mine seems to have 16 vents so ill take it as a clone. Should i ask for my money back from the bloke who sold me it off ebay? I was expecting the real deal and got a fake. Will it break down over time and can i update it?

Ask for your money back, & dont use the seller again.

if ur box is running on 4.00 then only update it to 4.00 u will find the link at bottom of scousers posts if u use the link to update its dated 10-4-2008 if ur box is a clone its not a true clone they run on 2.57 software and running 4.00 would have killed your box

Right my box has 18 vents, i mistook what you ment until i saw a picture, it has the back of a clone, the inside of a clone BUT has a normal remote and is running (so it says) on version 4.00 and as Tryabit said a clone does not run on that version. Im getting even more confused.LOL

dont no how long u have ur box but if it has run fine on 4.00 for a few weeks or more up date it with latest version of that softwere if u had box with 2.57 softwere and put 4.00 on it would kill the box in a few days so as that hasent happened id say ur safe with 4.00 thats my opinion only hope it cleared it up for u

clone users this member has told use and hes the dogs b****xs for starview u have been warned

hi iv just looked at the pictures to she if my starview box is a clone the thing is the box it came in the remote and the user guide are not copyed but the box is a small one so does this mean my starview box is a clone please help

Can anyone tell me if there are Starview 3 clones out there, and if so how would you recognise them. That aside anyone recommend genuine Starview 3 Internet dealers selling denuine Boxes

www.iwantabox.com. I got mine there and it worked,it's genuine too as I have the 25 vent slots on the top of the box not the 17 or 18 on the fake ones.

hey ive been reading the posts on here and have posted my own question. i bought my starview super box 3 off ebay from wizard promotions i got it this week and when i tune it in says bad data scrambled etc i hear there is codes out now but i dopnt know how to do it or find out if it needs updating. it has 25 slots on top and scarts r on right side and my remote is same as original anyone give me advice how to get it working again thanks.

do not run version 4 it will kill your box it happened to me after a few months.it was going fine then bang bye bye if you want to run this box the 257 fixed is your image you need then you will have to get the key codes all the time they scramble it

New update for clone's officially released last night, thanks to Sunrise - with auto-roll and safe to use it is called CryptStar_1.4-CORE257Bin - you need to flash your box to that and all will be well find it in the Library >>>

Go in to Starview and then Firmware

Click on the link, it will bring you to the Library, now you will see folder's, the 7th one down say's Starview - click that one and now you will see folders Documentation, Firmware, Software - click on firmware and you will now see Bin Files - the 2nd one down is the file you want for a clone box CrypStar-v1.4Core257Bin go to the right and download the bin file and save somewhere you can easily find it, when that is done, go back and download GTRom V4.00rar from the software folder.

i think the best box out der is a eurovoxmaxv buy a long shot

can any1 help me out i have a sv box with 18x7 vents but the processor heatsink has straight lines on it scarts r on the left hand side is this a clone box hope some 1 can help me out on this one thanks
