9 - kernel - HDD parameters (PIO/DMA/or size {debug}, certain size minimum is required for debug)

Not very common error, please try another harddisk.

    Do you have an EEPROM.bin?

Im not sure if you can hotswap, i had an error 9 on my box and i had to build UNICRONS EEPROM reader and use another harddrive as the one i had was wasted.

by hotswapping your more likely to destroy the hard drive by hotswapping! if you get an error twelve with the dvd drive unplugged you should be fine! "if its still error 9" then i guess you really need to try the hotswap/or build an eeprom reader
without an EEPROM.BIN you cant just swap a drive as it matches it to a chip on your motherboard to lock/unlock a drive.

there are lots of xboxes at carbootsales with no leads for £5 or less
just check the bottom to make sure its not been opened.

When you boot the xbox does it freeze on the flubber intro?

your xbox jumper "if its a stock 8GB" the pin should be closest to the IDE ribbon for MASTER

unplug your PC HDD "should be on Primary Channel"
turn on your PC with your xbox hdmv1.9 cd in the drive and check in your bios to boot from CD/DVD

at the bios detection press Pause/Break key.

now turn on your xbox with the DVD Power/IDE unplugged, hopefully you have an error twelve, if still 9 u can try anyway.

when your at an error unplug the IDE ribbon on your xbox drive and plug the IDE ribbon from your PC into the xbox drive then hit enter/Space on your keyboard

in xbox hdm choose option 1 (enter) type xboxhd (enter) choose option 1 (enter) type yes a few times when finished type 8 (enter)
    then type poweroff (enter)

once shutdown turn power off and reattach the IDE ribbon in your xbox and the DVD IDE/power supply.
